Bay Hill residents Allen and Sarah Layton co-hosted a 100th-year birthday party for Sarah’s mother, Marian Mishalanie, formerly of Sand Lake Pointe. Marian turned 100 on Nov. 4. Helping to celebrate the momentous occasion were Bay Hill residents Jim Bennett and Joanne MacPherson, Dr. Phillips resident Salley Martin, Bay Hill residents Janet Minard and Joe and Norma Radosevich, Clermont resident Lillian Saunders, Orlando resident Debra Sheffield, Bay Hill resident Richard Spears, Dr. Phillips resident Kathe Swanson, and South Bay resident Jeanne Wetta Van Sickle.
Richard West of Bay Hill is named 2016 Orlando Family Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers in America.

A new farmers market opened in MetroWest this past November. The Veranda Park Farmers Market operates Saturdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. It is located at 2121 S. Hiawassee Road in Orlando and serves the area between Winter Garden and downtown Orlando with local food, vendors and produce.
Ocoee
Thirty-eight Ocoee residents received free dental services from Colonial Drive Family Dentistry as part of Free Dentistry Day. Its dental team provided more than $25,000 worth of free oral health care, including extractions, to the community. Free Dentistry Day was initiated to provide dental care to the growing number of Americans without dental insurance.

• Katia Berger of Windermere earned a spot on the dean’s list for the first quarter of the 2016-17 academic year at the Randolph-Macon Academy Upper School for grades 9-12. The junior is the daughter of proud parents Robert and Kathryn Berger.
• Katherine Duncan of Windermere graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Education with a Master of Science.
• Lucinda Howard of Gotha earned a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Florida State University.
• Morgan Malinowski of Winter Garden graduated from Kent State University College of Education, Health and Human Services with a Bachelor of Science.
Ready, Set, Dance students showcase their talent at the 18th annual Now Snowing event in Celebration.
Students from Ready, Set, Dance in Gotha performed at the 18th annual Now Snowing event in Celebration. Now Snowing is a monthlong tradition that consists of snowfall and holiday festivities. The dancers also participated in the Ocoee Christmas Parade and Gaylord Palms Resort’s ICE show.

Dancers from Elizabeth Parsons School of Dance participated in the Florida Dance Masters Thanksgiving Convention in Orlando. Sophie Graham placed as a finalist in the Teen Miss Dance competition. Other solo competitors were Abby Crant, Reagan Dobrolecki and Adara Evans. Several students received scholarships from Florida Dance Masters. They were Abby Crant and Sophie Graham for acrobatics, Anna Lee for jazz, and Caroline Lee for ballet. Caroline also received an additional scholarship for top-10 overall. Reagan received an honorable mention for ballet. In addition, Anna, Caroline, Reagan and Sophie performed Get Up and Dance, which was presented at the Royal Dance Festival.
