Diagnostic Imaging Services

Orlando Health Imaging Center at Spring Lake
7243 Della Drive, Orlando
www.orlandohealthimagingcenters.com

As health care provides more advanced diagnostic and treatment options to consumers, it’s important to know what’s available to you. Residents of Dr. Phillips and the surrounding communities now have access to a state-of-the-art Orlando Health Imaging Centers facility within the Orlando Health Medical Pavilion — Spring Lake. Not only is the Orlando Health Imaging Center at Spring Lake equipped with the latest technology for highly precise CTs, MRIs and other diagnostic exams, but the facility offers a relaxing spa-like environment where patients are treated as guests. Moreover, patients do not pay a facility fee, which is usually charged when receiving imaging services in hospital settings. Did you know that you can specify to your doctor where you would like to receive your diagnostic imaging? Because you want an accurate diagnosis of what’s happening inside your body, the decision where to have your imaging done can be as important as the doctor you choose. Choosing to have your diagnostic exams done at a facility accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) is a key way you can select a high-quality imaging clinic. All six locations of Orlando Health Imaging Centers are ACR-accredited for MRI, CT, mammography, ultrasound and position emission tomography (PET) exams. ACR accreditation is awarded only after a rigorous review process of personnel, equipment performance, quality control and quality of clinical images. In addition, Orlando Health Imaging Centers offer advanced technology that delivers more precise imaging and quicker scanning, and results in a better patient experience. For example, the Spring Lake center is equipped with a 3T MRI, which has twice the strength and enhanced imaging quality of a standard 1.5T MRI. This increased image clarity is particularly beneficial for conditions involving the brain, spine and musculoskeletal system. For patients who may be anxious in a traditional MRI, the facility’s large bore 3T MRI has shorter scan times and more room and comfort. The 128-slice CT machine at Spring Lake provides detailed and speedy imaging to help diagnose conditions such as cancer, heart disease, infectious disease, appendicitis and musculoskeletal disorders. As it scans, the CT machine divides the body into “slices” like a cake and takes detailed pictures of each one. The more slices, the more precision in the resulting image. The 128-slice CT system at Spring Lake also completes the scanning in about half the time as a traditional 64-slice exam. Orlando Health Imaging Center at Spring Lake is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Functional Medicine / Hormones & Wellness

Florida Center for Hormones & Wellness
7575 Dr. Phillips Blvd., Suite 370, Orlando • 407-505-6345
www.hormonesandwellness.com

With age comes the decline of hormone production by the organs in the body. Just as vitamins and minerals decline with age, the organs in women and men alike produce declining levels of hormones with age. These include estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, thyroid hormones, growth hormone, melatonin, DHEA, brain hormones and the list goes on. Replacement of hormones helps to maintain the health of the body’s organs, while effectively treating numerous symptoms. The hormones used at Florida Center for Hormones & Wellness are identical to the hormones the body makes. Florida Center for Hormones strives to meet the ever-changing health needs of men and women. Its staff focuses on the nontraditional medical specialties of hormone replacement, sexual health and dysfunction, nonsurgical cosmetics, health and wellness, anti-aging and integrative medicine. They firmly believe that the “quality of life” is an essential component to any discussion about longevity. The team at Florida Hormones and Wellness is exceptional and cares deeply about its patients. Through careful analysis of medical history and diagnostic testing, John C. Carrozzella, M.D., ABAARM, FAARFM, is able to develop and offer the best individualized treatment plan for each client based on his or her needs and goals. Dr. Carrozzella is an advanced fellow of the American Academy of Anti-Aging and Aesthetic Medicine, and a member of the International Society for Sexual Medicine and the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health. He and his team go the extra mile so that their patients can function higher — physically, mentally and sexually. At Florida Center for Hormones & Wellness, patients are not rushed, and their feelings and concerns become the staff’s concerns. They take the time needed to help each patient achieve, or perhaps exceed, his or her realistic goals through a customized care plan. The practice uses a compounding pharmacy, giving the staff the ability to provide ingredients commonly found in mass-produced medications. This allows for accurate dosing, reduced side effects and ease of administration. Some patients ask if they are safe taking hormones. The center’s staff asks “How safe are you without your hormones?” The cells in a person’s brain, heart, vessels, bones, skin, hair follicles and muscles all have receptors for hormones. As hormone levels dwindle, these cells and tissues lose stimulation, leading to a rapid decline and advancement of degenerative diseases. If a person would correct a vitamin or mineral deficiency with bioidentical vitamins or mineral replacements, he/she should consider replacing a declining hormone.

Spa Blue

Spa Blue, where personalized attention is a top priority, was voted Orlando’s best spa for 2017. Spa Blue offers the most advanced, innovative, nonsurgical skin rejuvenation under the co-ownership of Janet Beres, a board-certified physician assistant, and Medical Director/Cosmetic Surgeon Diana Lambie. Beres, a master-trained cosmetic injector with more than 17 years of experience in dermatology and cosmetic surgery, is well-known for her natural results. Her artistic background, combined with her passion to learn the latest techniques, have made her one of the most sought-after cosmetic providers for both locals and celebrities. She utilizes an array of cutting-edge treatments to sculpt the face and body. The liquid lift is a combination of Botox Cosmetic and fillers that gives the face an instant lift in about an hour. Combining this procedure with a fat-melting laser to sculpt and define the jaw line and remove the fullness below the chin can remove a few years before a client even leaves the spa. Using fillers in the tear troughs (under-eye circles) can instantly remove the “tired look” without downtime due to Beres’ special non-bruising technique. The latest revolutionary new treatment is platelet-rich plasma (PRP, or the Vampire Facial) for skin rejuvenation, balding or thinning hair in men and women, sexual rejuvenation or urinary incontinence. Neurofeedback

MasterMind Neurofeedback LLC
321-710-1954 • mmnfb.com

MasterMind Neurofeedback LLC is changing the world one brain at a time. Nancy Fitzpatrick, managing partner of MasterMind, ensures that her company is dedicated to helping individuals, adolescents and children become happy and successful by reaching their true potential. Her goal is to demystify neurofeedback training, as it has 30 years of science to back its success. It gained some momentum in the medical community when, in 2012, the American Academy of Pediatrics rated neurofeedback as a Level 1 “best support” intervention for ADHD, alongside medication and behavioral treatments. It continues to make strides as it successfully aids in the recovery of postconcussive syndrome and traumatic brain injury, which are both recurring news headlines. MasterMind uses state-of-the-art whole brain technology, which is an advanced neurotechnology that offers training to the brain, enabling it to function more efficiently. This form of neurofeedback is not a medical treatment but instead is a training for the brain. Therefore, it does not require a specific diagnosis, as it dances microsecond by microsecond with the brain, offering it the information it needs to reorganize itself. Training is drug-free, noninvasive and doesn’t push or pull the brain in any particular direction. Neurofeedback is simply a workout for the brain. Keeping it fit and flexible allows it to adapt with ease to the client’s ever-changing environment. Each appointment lasts about 45 minutes, and training is effortless, as the client sits in a comfortable chair with sensors attached to his or her head/ears and watches a movie or listens to music. When the system detects an inefficiency, it cues the brain by momentarily stopping the music and/or video. With continued training, the brain learns to correct and thus reorganize itself. MasterMind works with a wide variety of clients to treat the symptoms of many neurological-based conditions, including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, autism, epilepsy, behavioral issues, etc. It also offers postconcussive training, as well as peak performance training for athletes. Neurofeedback provides positive results in conjunction with other modalities and as a stand-alone option.

Pharmacy

Olympia Compounding Pharmacy
6700 Conroy-Windermere Road, Suite 155, Orlando
407-673-2222 • www.olympiapharmacy.com

Olympia Compounding Pharmacy is a national leader in compounded medications. Olympia opened a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in June 2014. This new facility is also registered as a Food and Drug Administration outsourcing facility. As one of only a few outsourcing facilities in the state, Olympia can provide patient-specific prescriptions as well as “office use” medications for physician offices, clinics and hospitals. The Compounding Quality Act, which was signed into law in November 2013, stipulates that only an FDA-registered outsourcing facility can provide “office use” medications. Outsourcing facilities are held to a much higher standard of operation than traditional compounding pharmacies. The pharmacists at Olympia have more than 30 years of experience in bringing patients high-quality medications and excellent customer service. Patients can call to receive a free, personal consultation about any of their specialty medications. Because one size does not always fit all, Olympia’s experts consult with patients every day and help develop personalized, custom regimens. Olympia is a national leader in women’s health and bioidentical hormones. Bioidentical means the hormones that are used are an exact molecular match to hormones produced by the body. This is a safe, effective way to bring a woman’s body back into hormonal balance. Balanced hormones help women of all ages look and feel younger, stay slimmer and have more energy. Men’s health is another Olympia specialty. As men grow older, they may experience one or more age-related symptoms, such as low testosterone or erectile dysfunction. These conditions are easily correctable with proper treatment, and Olympia’s staff has the necessary expertise. In addition, being overweight affects men and women of all ages, but there is hope. Medical weight loss is a safe, effective way to lose weight. With medications like HCG and Sermorelin, tremendous success is being enjoyed by many. Olympia has the largest lyophilization facility in the eastern U.S., allowing HCG and Sermorelin to be compounded on-site, making it very cost-effective and high-quality. The pharmacy compounds B-12, vitamin B complex and fat-burning injections; topical medications such as pain, wound and bleaching creams; and other dermatologic treatments. The pharmacy also compounds small-animal medications. These compounds offer a safe, effective, easy-to-administer, inexpensive way for pets to get the medications they need. Olympia Pharmacy is conveniently located at the intersection of Turkey Lake and Conroy-Windermere roads, and next-business-day shipping is offered throughout all of Central Florida. Physicians interested in touring the new facility can email dan@olympiapharmacy.com to set up an appointment.
