This year, Foundation Academy proudly celebrates its 60th anniversary. What began as a kindergarten program back in 1958 has grown into a two-campus, preschool through 12th grade, private Christian school in Winter Garden. This year, the school is not only commemorating its impressive history, but also its promising future, with plans to expand and continue its legacy as a foundation for academic excellence.

Windermere Preparatory School’s Wounded Warrior Club held a “Dress Down Day” on Veterans Day. They were able to raise $3,200 through the event. All proceeds were donated to Home At Last, a local nonprofit that builds mortgage-free homes for deserving disabled veterans.
Putting the hustle and bustle of the holidays aside, students at Holy Family Catholic School demonstrated the true meaning of Christmas this holiday season. Children in pre-K3 through eighth grade had their moments to shine in various holiday programs performed for their classmates and families.
Girl Scout Troop 18 participated in the Ocoee Christmas Parade. The girls decorated a golf cart with holiday decorations that some rode in while others walked. They won third place in the parade under the Scouting category.

On Nov. 6, more than 30 Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association companies participated in a Hurricane Relief Hospitality Career Fair with the purpose of securing employment for those who fled to Central Florida in the aftermath of the destructive hurricane season that impacted Puerto Rico and neighboring islands.
