Central Florida educators shadow hospitality industry leaders for a week during the 2017 Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association Teacher Academy Program.

On June 23, the Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association celebrated the success of the 2017 Teacher Academy Program. The luncheon celebration, held at Valencia CollegeWest Campus, featured a keynote address by Brian Wong, general manager of the Celebration Suites Hotel, as well as recognition of the 15 Central Florida educators and lodging establishments they shadowed.

The annual Teacher Academy Program, a weeklong job-shadowing experience, partners Central Florida educators with lodging establishments to better understand the various career opportunities in the hospitality industry. This awareness allows educators to guide students in the many career choices within the hospitality industry and enhance their curriculums to reflect real-world workforce needs.

CFHLA commends the following education partners in the 2017 Teacher Academy Program: Cyp-ress Creek High School, Dr. Phillips High School, Gateway High School, Paul J. Hagerty High School, Jones High School, Lake Howell High School, Orange Technical College, Poinciana High School, Seminole High School, Wekiva High School and Zenith School. ♥
