Jay A. Redan, M.D., F.A.C.S., A.S.C.R.S., specializes in laparoscopic surgery and has pioneered the field since its infancy. He has traveled the world teaching and training people from several countries about the benefits of minimally invasive surgery. He specializes in surgery of the colon, gallbladder and spleen, as well as surgery for hernias and the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease. He also treats hemorrhoids, abdominal pain, bowel obstruction and diverticulitis, as well as performs colonoscopies and upper endoscopies.
Dr. Redan received his medical degree and completed his general surgery residency at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey, and he served in the U.S. Army Reserve and Army National Guard for nine years, retiring in 1999 with the rank of major.
Dr. Redan is the medical director of minimally invasive general surgery at Florida Hospital Celebration Health. He is certified by The American Board of Surgery and is a member of The American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
