Winter Garden-based Christian band Adam’s Road and Jason Yeager, a top-20 finalist on season seven of American Idol, are scheduled to perform during the 2010 Relay For Life of Stoneybrook that will take place from April 30 through May 1. The event, which will be held at Whispering Oak Elementary School in Winter Garden, benefits the American Cancer Society.

Give a Kid a Backpack will present Evening at the Pops, featuring the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, on March 27.
Produced by the Rotary Club of Winter Garden, the community event will bring classical and contemporary music to the shores of Lake Apopka. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and picnic baskets. Festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. at Tanner Hall in Winter Garden, and tickets are $5.

Dr. Phillips High School held its inaugural Miss DPHS pageant. Winner MarCherie Thompkins, who wowed the judges with her a cappella solo, was awarded a $500 scholarship, four tickets to an Orlando Titans home game, and a limousine ride to prom sponsored by My House Productions. Gabriela Soto, second runner-up, was awarded a $300 scholarship; and Liliana Simone, third runner-up, took home a $200 scholarship.

 Megan Markham of Pembrooke is cast in The Final Battle, a full-length musical based on the final 200 pages of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Megan Markham of Pembrooke was cast as Young Lily Dancer, as well as a member of the signing and dancing wizard chorus, in The Final Battle. The full-length musical is based on the final 200 pages of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the seventh and final book in the Harry Potter series.
The Final Battle will be performed July 16 at Infinitus 2010, an annual Harry Potter conference that will be held in Orlando from July 15 through July 18 at Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando.
At 13, Markham is the youngest member of the musical’s cast.

Nina Fink, a fourth-grader at Windermere Elementary School, was selected to participate in Nationals Inc.’s 2010 Miss Jr. Pre-Teen Orlando pageant, which was held Valentine’s Day. Fink submitted an application and took part in an interview session that was conducted by Natalie Michelle, this year’s pageant coordinator. Fink placed second in her age group.
