New Medical Pavilion Offers Convenient, Comprehensive Care
Orlando Health Medical Pavilion — Sand Lake offers various health care services and specialties in one convenient location.
There’s a new trend in health care that perfectly fits today’s modern family profile. Think of it as a health care mall. This method of delivery of medical services is considered a time-saving, one-stop shopping experience for all health care needs.
Orlando Health is proud to offer this innovative approach to care that can help busy families stay healthy by providing a focus on preventive and diagnostic care that’s close to home and work.
Opened Jan. 30, 2017, Orlando Health Medical Pavilion — Spring Lake offers residents of Bay Hill, Dr. Phillips, Windermere and the surrounding communities a convenient, one-stop location for comprehensive health care services.
One of the first full-service, outpatient medical pavilions in Central Florida, the three-story, 60,000-square-foot health care complex is located at 7243 Della Drive, on the corner of Dr. Phillips Boulevard and Della Drive in southwest Orange County.
“A common theme among consumers today is that they need convenient access to health care, so it’s easier to take care of themselves and their families,” said David Strong, CEO and president of Orlando Health.
As part of the Orlando Health network of care, the medical pavilion’s integrated medical services enable patients and their families to make the most efficient use of their valuable time. This is accomplished by consolidating a wide scope of services and specialties within one building. Patients have access to more than 35 Orlando Health physicians, including primary care physicians in family medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics and gynecology. Specialists include cardiology, general surgery, infectious disease, orthopedics, pediatric gastroenterology, podiatry, pulmonary and sleep medicine, sports medicine and urology.
Patients receive coordinated primary and specialized care from Orlando Health Physician Associates and Orlando Health Physicians Group, two of Central Florida’s most comprehensive physician practice groups. At the pavilion, health care consumers have access to expanded services that include outpatient minimally invasive surgery, a laboratory, diagnostic imaging and pharmacy services, as well as an on-site café.
Imagine having a morning appointment where the physician orders an X-ray and lab work. Those services are in the same building and can possibly be done immediately. While you are waiting for the results or for a prescription to be filled, you can enjoy a snack at the café. If you are referred to a specialist, his or her office is probably just a floor away, so you can make an appointment before even leaving the building. It’s that convenient.
“This building and the way it’s organized has the potential to improve the health of residents in southwest Orange County simply by making it easier and more convenient for them to get care in one location with so many integrated services,” said Greg Ohe, senior vice president of ambulatory services.
An added benefit for patients seen by doctors at the medical pavilion is that Orlando Health is an integrated health care network. Patient medical records, in addition to laboratory and imaging results, are maintained securely within the Orlando Health network and are readily available to doctors on-site.
This is most convenient when it comes to diagnostic imaging services. The Orlando Health Imaging Center within the medical pavilion features 3T MRIs, CT scans, Doppler and vascular ultrasounds, digital X-rays and nuclear medicine. There is also a dedicated Women’s Imaging Center that offers digital mammographies, breast MRIs and bone-density DEXA scans, with the privacy and compassion that women desire.
Orlando Health is a not-for-profit health care organization and a community-based network of physician practices, hospitals and outpatient care centers throughout Central Florida. The facilities include Orlando Health UF Health Cancer Center with locations in downtown Orlando, the Dr. Phillips community, Lake Mary, Ocoee and Clermont. There is also an outpatient surgical center and eight owned or affiliated hospitals, including Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, Orlando Regional Medical Center, and Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies.
