John D. Horowitz, M.D.
|
As a vascular specialist, John D. Horowitz, M.D., helps patients with problems concerning arteries and veins. Dr. Horowitz uses nonsurgical, catheter-based techniques that leave no scars and result in quick recovery. One such surgical procedure uses radio frequency closure of the saphenous veins to eliminate superficial venous reflux, the major cause of large varicose veins. Another similar procedure, endovenous laser treatment — EVLT — uses laser energy to heat the veins. These catheter-based techniques require no incisions, offer minimal downtime and can be performed in an office setting. Other veins are treated with ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy, a technique that allows veins of any size to be treated with injections only. As a board-certified vascular surgeon, Dr. Horowitz also specializes in carotid evaluation and surgery for stroke prevention, leg circulatory problems and aneurysm repair. Dr. Horowitz has practiced in Orlando since 1993. He is affiliated with Florida Hospital and Health Central.

David Varnagy, M.D. |
As a vascular specialist and endovascular surgeon, David Varnagy, M.D., optimizes patients’ vascular health by performing a variety of new, minimally invasive, catheter-based endovascular procedures, in addition to traditional surgical approaches. These catheter-based treatments include carotid-artery stenting, endovascular repair of abdominal or thoracic aortic aneurysms, angioplasty or atherectomy devices used to clear lower extremity arteries of plaque, and less invasive therapies for varicose veins. This therapy allows patients to resume normal activities after short hospital stays. Dr. Varnagy trained at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami and the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey. He is active in many national and international societies, including the Society for Vascular Surgery, American Venous Forum, American College of Surgeons, American College of Phlebology, American Medical Association and Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society.
