Columbus Center Dance Academy offers after-school enrichment programs with dance classes and exciting performing opportunities, as well as provides transportation from local schools. Dancers from age 3-professionals take classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, salsa and gymnastics in specially designed facilities with experienced, professional teachers. In addition to the annual Christmas show and June recital, there are other performance opportunities where dancers can have fun while showcasing skills learned in class. Elizabeth Parsons School of Dance, located at 116 W. Sixth Ave. in Windermere, is now registering for its 31st dance season. Under the artistic direction of Elizabeth Parsons, the school offers dance instruction for all ages in classical ballet, tap, jazz, modern, acro and hiphop. Classes are limited and begin Aug. 29. In The Limelight, which will open a new permanent location this fall in Suite 104 at 5555 S. Kirkman Road in Orlando, is a theatrical production company and performing arts school for youth. Its mission is to enrich the lives of young people by addressing their unique needs through formal education in the performing arts and productions of the highest quality. The new facility offers a state-of-theart dance studio and 100-seat theater. Classes for ages 3-18 start in the fall and include acting, dance, voice, playwriting, piano and guitar lessons, and preschool music and art.
