University of Central Florida head football coach George O’Leary spoke during a Rotary Club of Windermere meeting about the upcoming season and spring practices. UCF will kick off its 2011-12 season Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. against Charleston Southern University at Bright House Networks Stadium on UCF’s campus in Orlando. |
| Shingle Creek Golf Club and Rosen Shingle Creek, located at 9939 Universal Blvd. in Orlando, will host Keene’s Pointe resident Lucille O’Neal’s Shaq’s Mama Said Knock You Out Golf Tournament and Soulful Midday Soiree on Sept. 16. The tournament will begin at 8 a.m., followed by the soiree. The event includes a 1930s Cotton Club-themed atmosphere, complete with jazz, a buffet, poker, table games, dancing and more. The cost is $3,000 per golf foursome, which includes the soiree, or $75 per person for the soiree only. Proceeds benefit the Odessa Chambliss Quality of Life Fund Inc.
