Nestled among lush tropical foliage, Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens boasts more than 400 animals, 23 acres of native gardens, animal encounters, a miniature train and carousel. Guests can cool off during the warm months at the Wharton-Smith Inc. Tropical Splash Ground or let children enjoy the new Kaboom playground. Other unique experiences include Zoom Air Adventures, Battlefield Live Orlando Laser Tag, Segway x2 Adventure Tours, and Euro Bungee.

Gatorland

Gatorland is a 110-acre theme park and wildlife preserve that combines “old Florida” charm with exciting exhibits and entertainment. Opened in 1949, the park provides affordable family fun with thousands of alligators, crocodiles, an aviary, breeding marsh with observation tower, petting zoo, nature walk, educational wildlife programs and more. Last month, the park opened its Screamin’ Gator Zip Line, which takes guests on a journey along 1,200 feet of cable. With heights up to 56 feet, guests fly at speeds more than 30 mph.

Grand Cypress Tennis and Racquet Club, located at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, offers fun summer programs for the entire family. Lessons are available for all ages and levels. Coed round robin tournaments are offered Saturdays at 9a.m., in addition to drills offered at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and 9:30a.m. on Fridays. A women’s morning doubles and singles league begins July 13, with registration required by July 11. Tennis membership includes the round robin tournaments, as well as eight clay and four hard world-class courts overlooking Lake Windsong, and use of the health club, sauna, steam room and one-half-acre pool.

High Line Car Sales Inc. is an independent automotive dealer that sells and services most European and luxury vehicles. The repair facility performs services from simple oil changes to scheduled maintenance. It also resets various service messages and conducts sophisticated electronic engine-management diagnoses, as well as all other services necessary to keep a vehicle running at peak performance, allowing drivers to enjoy their cars throughout the summer. High Line is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5p.m.

Jewel Court Stables offers trail rides through Winter Garden and provides riders of all ages the opportunity to ride on country roads and wooded paths. Trailgoers may see a variety of wildlife as they ride through beautiful country settings. The guided trail rides are offered throughout the year on safe, schoolmaster-type horses. Reservations are required 24 hours in advance, and there is a four-person maximum. The cost is $55 per person for a 1.5-hour ride and $65 per person for a 2.5-hour ride.

Voted Orlando’s best indoor play center/party place by Nickelodeon’s Parents’ Picks Awards, which identifies the best family-oriented venues in 52 major U.S. cities, the climate-controlled play zone offers a large selection of obstacle courses, giant slides and jumpers, and provides fun for children of all ages. For younger guests, Jump N Joeys offers a separate toddler area with soft blocks, playhouses and designated toddler inflatables.
