HISTORY SUMMER CAMPS at Orange County Regional History Center, take children in kindergarten-eighth grade on journeys through time. Sponsored by the Orlando Federal Credit Union, kindergarten through fifth-grade themes include “Inventors’ Workshop,” “Pioneers & Cowboys,” “Lords and Ladies,” “Prehistoric Creatures,” “A Pirate’s Life for Me,” “Once Upon a Time,” “Cosmic Fury,” “School of Rock” and “Mummies, Tombs and More.” The theme offered for grades sixth-eighth is “The World of Wizards.” Camps, which cost $110 per week for members and $145 for nonmembers, take place June 13-Aug. 12 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Early drop-off at 7:30 a.m. and extended day from 3-6p.m. are available for $10 per day, per child. 65 E. iBRICK ACADEMY LEGO ROBOCAMP, uses Lego Education sets to teach campers about simple machines, mechanical engineering and energy, combining knowledge to create real, functional robots. Working in pairs, “cadets” learn robotics using hands-on projects and guided curriculum. Each cadet receives a T-shirt and Lego set with registration. Camps are coordinated and supervised by James C. Jones, a certified Lego Educational Academy teacher/trainer with more than a decade of experience.
