GOLF CAMPS at West Orange Country Club. West Orange Country Club has expanded its summer golf camps to three weeks this year. Scott Yates, director of golf, and his staff have created a program that focuses on etiquette, fundamentals and on-course play. GOLF SERIES from Disney Sports Attractions at Walt Disney World Resort’s Magnolia and Palm golf courses in Lake Buena Vista. The Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Classic Junior Golf Development Series is offered to young golfers ages 8-13. The fun, active and educational five-day experience runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Campers receive instruction from members of Disney’s PGA teaching staff, with emphasis on rules, safety and game etiquette. Campers also have the opportunity to enjoy a mid-day swim in Disney’s Polynesian Resort’s Volcano Pool. Weekly junior tournaments are available for golfers ages 14-18. iBRICK ACADEMY LEGO ROBOCAMP, uses Lego Education sets to teach campers about simple machines, mechanical engineering and energy, combining knowledge to create real, functional robots. Working in pairs, “cadets” learn robotics using hands-on projects and guided curriculum. Each cadet receives a T-shirt and Lego set with registration. Camps are coordinated and supervised by James C. Jones, a certified Lego Educational Academy teacher/trainer with more than a decade of experience.
