At a time when others are scaling back operations, Debi Einmo is pushing the envelope. Launching a luxury-based company on the heels of a recession may seem cavalier to some, but to this seasoned business professional, the plan is purposefully constructed and sensible.

“A part-time butler is an affordable luxury whose time has come,” Einmo said. “We have part-time nurses, information technology professionals and executives, so why not part-time butlers?”

According to the International Association of Butlers, “Today’s butlers function as personal assistants … often performing routine tasks that allow the client to focus on more important events in their lives.”

Other websites state that a butler’s duties may include household cleaning; pool maintenance; attending to repairs and maintenance issues of the home, vehicles and grounds; as well as performing household bookkeeping and overall management of the home.

“Since most of today’s communication between butler and client occurs via email or text, a part-time butler provides a more cost-effective way to manage one’s home, without sacrificing leisure time,” Einmo said.

“For people who work harder and longer than ever before, leisure time has become precious,” said Pamela Spruce, owner of the Australian Butler School. “As a result, having someone to manage their personal life is no longer a luxury, indeed, it has become a necessity.”

A former government contracting executive, Einmo founded White Glove Services, LLC, aka Butlers On Call, in 2010 to provide part-time butler services in the areas of event planning and management, household management and total home cleaning. Currently limited to the greater Orlando area, services are offered on both scheduled and emergency bases for existing clients.
