Dawn Catherine, founder of La Bella Vita Cosmetico and Luxury Goods, received an Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers & Distributors City Award for Most Innovative Professional Skin Care Line. The Southwest resident was honored during the eighth annual ICMAD CITY Awards for Cosmetic Innovators of The Year that was held in New York City. Dawn, who has worked in the beauty industry for 17 years, founded her skin-care lines and bath and body products two years ago. |

Members of Dr. Winn Service Unit’s Junior Girl Scout Troop No. 2263 were recognized during a ceremony at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. The girls received a Bronze Award for their hard work, leadership, and dedication to the community and Girl Scouts. Troop members Ainsley and Lauren Andre, Irelyn Dawson, Maria Diyaljee, Kailey Jones, Mackenzie Peck, Hailey Poorman, and Alyssa and Bryanna Williams held a bake sale to raise money for a local homeless shelter, as well as volunteered at the shelter and purchased shower curtains, hooks and flip-flops for the residents. |

Southwest residents Gabriela Coban and Gene Hirschfeld, president and vice president of Ten-global LLC in Dr. Phillips, respectively, adopted a section of Dr. Phillips Boulevard through Orange County’s Adopt-A-Highway program. Gabriela and Gene, along with their staff members, will keep the road clean and free of litter. |
