Relay For Life of Hunter’s Creek 2011 raises more than $200,000 for American Cancer Society. |
More than 650 people on 47 teams participated in Relay For Life of Hunter’s Creek 2011. The event raised more than $200,000 for American Cancer Society, making it one of the top Relay For Life events in the U.S. The top individual fundraiser was Christie Galvin of Team Hits Home, who raised $9,355. Adam Marquardt, also from Team Hits Home, was the top youth fundraiser, contributing $4,537. Team 4 Paws for the Cause, led by Carol Mackeen, was the top team, raising $33,899. Relay For Life of Hunter’s Creek 2012 will be held Nov. 10 through Nov. 11 at Osprey Park in Orlando. |

The MetroWest resident was selected from almost 200 candidates for the public relations award, and the toastmaster of the year award is bestowed upon a member who has served the club above and beyond their regular responsibilities. |

David Stephens officiated the ceremony, which was attended by 100 friends and family members, some of whom had traveled from Tokyo. Roger is a bid manager for Dragados USA Inc., and Emiko is a regional marketing manager for USA Today. The Orange Tree residents honeymooned in Italy, Madrid, London and New York. |

| Central Florida Women’s League will hold its second annual Taste of Windermere at The Pines fundraiser March 31 from 6-10 p.m. at The Pines at Windermere, located at 3409 Maguire Road in Windermere. The event will include food and wine samples, music, dancing and more. The cost is $45 in advance and $55 the day of the event. Proceeds will benefit Central Florida charities and scholarships. The fundraiser also will include a family-friendly event from noon-4 p.m. that will feature face painting, games, a magician, bounce houses, disc jockey and more.
