Mark Cuffe, M.D., graduated with high honors from the University of Florida in Gainesville and, subsequently, with honors from UF’s College of Medicine. He was certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery following completion of his six-year residency at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. Dr. Cuffe received an Augustus McCravey Southern Neurosurgical Resident Clinical Science Award while he was a resident. He has treated thousands of patients, both adult and pediatric, for nearly 25 years. His goal is to ensure that his patients get better, with or without surgery. He sees himself as a physician first and as a surgeon second.

Wayne Gardner, P.A.-C. |
Wayne Gardner, P.A.-C., earned his bachelor’s in medical science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He graduated first in his class from the Surgical Physician Assistant Program of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center, receiving the Margaret K. Kirklin Award for academic excellence. He has maintained the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. During his more than 25 years of service, Gardner has been a lecturer and preceptor for physician-assistant students. His expertise is in all aspects of cardiothoracic surgery, tissue banking and management of intensive-care-unit patients. Currently, his interests include the development of minimally invasive surgical techniques. He has taught these techniques to physician assistants and surgeons. Gardner is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. He practices at the NeuroSpine Institute of Orlando.

Pete Indelicato, M.D. |
Pete Indelicato, M.D., heads the orthopedic sports medicine department at the NeuroSpine Institute of Orlando. He recently retired from the position of head team physician for the University of Florida Athletic Association. In addition to his 33-year career with UF, Dr. Indelicato also served as team consulting physician for the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. He has achieved many awards and recognitions throughout his career, including being named in Best Doctors in America for 11 years and being named Southeastern Conference Doctor of the Year for 2002-03; and receiving the Gold Medal Distinguished Alumni Award, New York Medical College in May 2008 and the 2008 Sports Medicine of the Year award from the Athletic Trainers Association of Florida. He was named as the 2011-12 incoming president of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine’s Sports Trauma Overuse Prevention campaign initiative. S.T.O.P.’s main goal is to help prevent athletic overuse and trauma injuries in children.

Robert L. Masson, M.D. |
Robert L. Masson, M.D., is an internationally recognized neurosurgeon specializing in spinal injury and sports neurosurgery. He also is the founder of the NeuroSpine Institute Foundation. He is an international consultant for minimally invasive neurosurgery and one of the world’s leading advocates for spinal disease being recognized as a recoverable sports injury. Although Dr. Masson has a background in complex skull-base intracranial surgery, he began applying brain surgery techniques to spinal surgery, including artificial disk surgery instead of spinal fusion. Mitchell Supler, M.D. |
Mitchell Supler, M.D., brings 17 years of neurosurgical experience to NeuroSpine Institute of Orlando. He graduated with honors from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1989, receiving the Lyerly Award for excellence in neurosurgery. He completed his residency in neurosurgery at UF, where he trained with Robert L. Masson, M.D. While at UF, he was trained in advanced microneurosurgical anatomy and surgery by Albert Rhoton Jr., M.D., known as the father of microneurosurgery. Dr. Supler was inspired by Richard Fessler, M.D., to become skilled in minimally invasive spine surgery and, subsequently, joined Dr. Masson as faculty on the iMAS project, where he trains surgeons worldwide. Dr. Supler specializes in artificial disc replacement of the lumbar spine, and he has extensive experience in the surgical treatment of chronic pain.
