Andres Goyanes, a founding member of the Rotary Club of International Drive, was recognized during a recent Rotary Club of Lake Buena Vista meeting. A former member of the Lake Buena Vista club, Andres was honored with the Golden Eagle Award in recognition of the 26 new members he recruited for the International Drive club. In attendance for the award presentation were Art Brown, Rotary International District 6980 governor and Rotary Club of Dr. Phillips member; and Sonny Buoncervello, District 6980 club extension chairman and Rotary Club of Lake Buena Vista member. |

Cub Scout Pack No. 320 members held their fourth annual Pinewood Derby competition at Keene’s Crossing Elementary School. Top honors went to Tiger Den scouts Anthony Tambini, Armaan Motiwala and Chris Milazzo, who placed first through third, respectively. Aidan Cottier of the Wolf Den received the award for Best Overall Design. Pack No. 320 is chartered through Sunset Park Elementary School’s PTO, and the majority of members attend KCES and SPES. |

After six years as director of public relations and events for West Orange Chamber of Commerce, Southwest resident Lauren Wolf has left WOCC and announced her new role as director of the NeuroSpine Institute Foundation. Founded by Robert Masson, M.D., of Windermere, NSIF promotes youth sports and educates parents, trainers and coaches about how to stop preventable injuries from occurring, as well as how to identify the symptoms of concussion. Lauren’s main objective is to raise NSIF awareness in west Orange County and throughout the U.S. |

Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra officials announced auditions for the 2012-13 concert season. One of the top youth orchestras in the U.S., officials are seeking dedicated, talented young musicians to join FSYO’s four orchestras. Student members will participate in Sunday rehearsals and concert experiences throughout the year, as well as meet international guest artists. Ninety percent of FSYO alumni advance to college, and many attend prestigious music schools and serve as principals in nationally recognized orchestras. Audition applications are due April 20. |
