Medical Center Offers Individual, Patient-Centered Care for All Ages

One-Stop Medical Care

Niral Patel, M.D., and his team of experts provide comprehensive medical services, including both internal medicine and pediatric primary care, a walk-in clinic, chiropractic services and more, at Windermere Medical Center.

Retail shopping malls developed across the country in the 1960s and made the idea of one-stop shopping a matter of convenience and choice. Soon malls also became popular destinations for entertainment and dining. Today, the model of one location to take care of all one’s personal needs is being adapted to a variety of businesses in as many industries, including the field of medicine. Windermere Medical Center, located at 11600 Lakeside Village Lane in Windermere, is leading the way for one-stop medical care.

Windermere Medical Center provides comprehensive medical services, which include both internal medicine and pediatric primary care, a walk-in clinic that is open until 9 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturdays, and chiropractic services. The center also features on-site digital X-ray imaging, blood-draw services, and dermatology and specialty imaging services. The fact that it’s all under one roof is unique and greatly appreciated by the practice’s patients, especially those with children and the elderly with limited mobility.

“We are looking at the possibility of bringing in additional specialty physicians in the future to give more access to our patients, which will add more services to our practice,” said Sara Dee, practice administrator.

Windermere Medical Center officially opened in March 2014 under the direction of CEO and founder Niral Patel, M.D. Taking a more personalized focus on wellness than big metropolitan hospitals, the center administers care on an individual, patient-centered basis. Dr. Patel and his staff of eight board-certified physicians, nurse practitioners, a physician assistant and chiropractor are committed to creating a partnership and personal health plan for each patient by focusing on strategies to achieve optimal health.

Windermere Medical Center was designed with patient comfort and efficiency of operation in mind. Long wait times are unheard of. The lobbies are spacious, bright, warm and welcoming to ensure patients do not feel cramped or stressed. The color schemes were selected with the specific goal of making patients feel at ease and comfortable. Exam rooms are situated around central nursing stations to allow for quick access by providers and staff.

One of the most distinguishing features of the multipurpose clinic is the sun-tunnel walkways, which let vast amounts of natural light permeate the hallways and workspaces.

“One of the many benefits of increased natural light is improved sleep quality, which also improves the quality of a person’s health,” Dee said.

Dee also noted that in the sunny environment, patients don’t feel like they are walking down a darkened hallway through a stuffy office and into an isolated exam room, all of which can produce unwanted stress. Both staff and patients report that the abundance of sunlight makes for a more relaxed, productive and enjoyable environment.

Dr. Patel believes all medical centers should also offer outreach programs in order to strengthen ties to the local community. To that end, Windermere Medical Center partners with Sunset Park and Keenes Crossing elementary schools, as well as Windermere Preparatory School, to provide sports physical examinations and wellness education.

Occupational health care services are also available to local businesses. Sweetwater Car Wash, Florida Hospital Winter Garden, Core Golf Academy and Fresh Express are among the enterprises taking advantage of Windermere Medical Center’s pre-employment physicals, drug screening, and work-injury evaluations and treatment.

Windermere Medical Center is centrally located, serving families living in Southwest Orlando and its surrounding communities, including Celebration, Disney/Lake Buena Vista, Dr. Phillips, Ocoee, Windermere and Winter Garden. The center accepts new patients and has office hours six days a week, with walk-in care hours weekdays from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Internal medicine and pediatric office hours are by appointment on weekdays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; and chiropractic hours are weekdays from 8 a.m.-noon and 2-6 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m.-noon.
