There aren’t many people who are able to turn a hobby they love into a business that can support them. Those who accomplish this feat find true happiness. Tony Rappa is one of those lucky individuals.

Rappa started Capture Video and Photo in 2009 after years of providing photography services free of charge to friends and family. Today, his company is a leader in providing state-of-the-art photography and video services to legal and real estate professionals in Central Florida. Additionally, the company offers high-resolution personal portraiture and event video at an affordable rate. The service is popular with both corporations desiring quality photos of their staff for their websites and couples who are getting engaged or planning their special day.

The legal profession benefits from Capture’s services by having a permanent video record of information vital to a case, giving a lawyer an edge that cannot be achieved with transcripts alone. Rappa can edit videos to highlight evidence and arrange it for maximum effectiveness.

The company also offers 360-degree and aerial drone imaging, which allows for virtual walk-throughs and viewing the natural environment of homes for sale. It can also add a special dimension to the recording of events. In fact, Rappa is an FAA-approved commercial aerial photographer.

“Anyone can fly a drone with a camera attached,” Rappa said. “To get the maximum result, you need to know the rules governing the use of drones and have the proper photographic equipment.”

Rappa possesses both. He also uses the latest photography technology, including 4K video.

“Our cameras record the raw video in 4K, which is four times the amount of resolution previously available in 1080p cameras,” Rappa said.

Being on top of the latest technology can get rather expensive for a small business owner. But, Rappa keeps ahead of the curve when it comes to purchasing new photographic equipment.

“As brand-new technology becomes available, I purchase it and am able to sell my existing equipment, since it is still the most acceptable in use,” he said.

Capture Video and Photo uses that same advanced technology to deliver the highest quality products for weddings and other life events. Shoot schedules can be customized to fit any budget, and Rappa believes on-going communication is imperative to the planning and execution of recording an important event. The company also documents sporting events, shoots music videos and records live concert photography and video.

Rappa is committed to making the smallest possible negative impact on the planet. To that end, his work is delivered digitally without any plastic waste and, most times, within 24 hours of the shoot. When he started the company, Rappa made a commitment to give back to the community that allows him to live his dream, and he continues to do that to this day. He is happy to record golf tournaments and other fundraising events free-of-charge for nonprofit organizations. He also generously donates goods and services for silent auctions at many charity events.

Recycle Across America is one of Rappa’s favorite causes, for which he is proud to lend his services. RAA is a nonprofit agency with a goal of standardizing the labels showing what can be recycled and where. Locally, Orlando International Airport is the first international airport to begin using the standardized labels in all terminals, and Winter Park is the first city to implement the standardized labels on all of its residential rollaway carts.

Capture Video and Photo does not operate in a studio setting. Rappa goes on location to shoot his assignments, wherever that may take him.
