(L. to r.) Joie Cadle, Orange County School Board District 1 member; Pam Gould, OCSB District 4 member; Daryl Flynn, OCSB District 2 member; Linda Kobert, OCSB District 3 member; and Tina Calderone, Seminole County School Board vice chair, kick off the 2017-18 Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association Adopt-A-School program.

On Sept. 27, representatives from the school districts of Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties joined Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association (CFHLA) members for the annual Adopt-A-School Kick-Off Luncheon at the Crowne Plaza Orlando Universal.

During the 2016-17 school year, CFHLA members partnered with more than 115 Central Florida schools, providing essential school supplies, sponsoring activities, mentoring students and providing meeting space for faculty members.

At this year’s 2017-18 Kick-Off Luncheon, Osceola County School District teachers of the year Amy and Michael Miller addressed the audience, testifying to the importance of business partnerships with public education in Central Florida.

CFHLA salutes the Adopt-A-School Committee, including Chairman Jeff Swirksy of the Holiday Inn Orlando Resort Lake Buena Vista, for its leadership and support of this important community program entering the 2017-18 school year. ♥
