On Jan. 24, the Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association once again produced the annual Golden Pineapple Awards Dinner at the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive to recognize “front-line” Central Florida lodging employees for exemplary customer service and commitment to both their team members and guests. Southwest resident and Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings was in attendance to meet the award honorees and to present welcoming remarks to the 1,000 attendees at the awards dinner. Fox 35’s Tom Johnson served as the emcee of the evening, and awards were presented by CFHLA President/CEO Rich Maladecki.
The hospitality awards ceremony allows lodging managers to nominate and honor their hardworking employees for “above and beyond” service to their property and its guests. CFHLA received more than 260 nominations from Central Florida lodging establishments and presented awards to 13 selected winners. In addition, for the 14th consecutive year, CFHLA awarded Family Member Educational Scholarships to deserving family members of Central Florida hospitality employees. ♥
